Colombo Medical School Alumni Association was started on 01st of July 2011 at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, attended by over 100 alumni.

The founder council of CoMSAA was elected with Professor A.H. Sheriffdeen being elected as the Founder President. The constitution of Colombo Medical School Alumni Association (CoMSAA) was approved at this meeting.

The meeting ended with an enjoyable evening, where alumni were reminiscing with friends of old.

Objectives

  • To encourage, foster and promote close relations between the FMUC and its alumni and among the alumni themselves
  • To promote, in the alumni body, an interest in the affairs and well-being of the FMUC
  • To provide and disseminate information regarding the FMUC to its graduates, and to the alumni
  • To ensure that programs are initiated and developed for the benefit of the alumni
  • To assist and support the efforts of the CoMSAA in obtaining funds for development of the FMUC
  • To serve as a medium through which alumni may support and advance the pursuit of academic excellence at the FMUC
  • To guide and assist alumni to establish academic, professional and research collaboration nationally and internationally
  • To pursue any other activities consistent with the above aims and objectives of the CoMSAA
  • To assist the undergraduates in need of financial and other support
  • To develop interactions with other alumni associations of other medical schools and the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine
  • To guide interested groups who may wish to contribute to the objectives of the association with the guidance of the main Alumni Association
